This past December, the Gouverneur Thespian Society delivered a fantastic performance of Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic. The show was a great success, with an enthusiastic audience and glowing reviews from all involved.
If you missed Puffs, don’t worry! The High School Musical Club is preparing to bring Sister Act to the stage this March. This musical follows Deloris Van Cartier, an aspiring singer from Philadelphia who witnesses a crime and must go into hiding at a convent to stay safe. The performances will take place on March 28th and 29th at 7 PM.
This year, 14 seniors are participating both on and offstage. We want to recognize our five senior crew members for their hard work and dedication:
- Madison Hopper – Lights Coordinator
- Carly Bartholomew – Stage Manager
- Gianna Terpstra – Prop Manager
- Kaden Wells – Mics
- Hunter Bates – Stage Crew
Our productions wouldn’t be the same without our amazing crew, and we will be sad to see these seniors graduate.
Onstage, nine talented seniors will bring Sister Act to life:
- Akaysha Shippee-Ray as Deloris
- Mya Connor as Mother Superior
- Charley Newvine as Sister Mary Robert
- Alexis Dake as Sister Mary Patrick
- Hannah Dafoe as Sister Lazarus
- Abigail Lucas as Sister Mary Martin-of-Tours
- Kendra Murdie as a nun
- Cayden Middleton as Eddie and Monsignor
- Malique Zeller as Curtis
Alongside them, many talented underclassmen will be performing, giving us plenty to look forward to in future productions. Rehearsals are in full swing, and we can’t wait to see everyone in the audience for what promises to be an incredible show!
