Ava Bartholomew

In November, three Gouverneur High School students submitted their artwork to the CNY Scholastic Art Show. Out of a total of 4,000 entries, Senior Addison Conklin, Sophomore Gianna Manning, and Sophomore Renisa Richards all had their artwork accepted to the show and even received awards for their pieces in January. Addison Conklin was awarded the Gold Key Award, which is the highest honor given by the show, for her piece titled “The Black Phone”. Gianna Manning and Renisa Richards both received Silver Key Awards for their pieces titled “Beautiful Death” and “The Glove”, respectively. Their artwork will be displayed at Onondaga Community College until March 3rd and at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse from March 11th to April 9th. Copies of their work are currently displayed in the Gouverneur High School lobby. To view their work electronically or to learn more about the show itself, visit CNY Scholastic Art Awards 2023.
